Quick and easy read aimed at the 3-7 market. Narrative poetry with a strong sense of rhythm; the rhyme scheme is anything but complex, but you can supplement this with other, more challenging texts to get into that; this is good for imparting a sense of meter and rhythm. Heavily illustrated, but the photographs (as opposed to the illustrations that look more like clip art) are a bit garish; looks like a polarization filter of some sort was applied to all of them, leading to sharp lines and oversaturated colors. Parents will probably be more bothered by this than children. Not great, but certainly not awful. ** ½
Got this for a classmate named Aiden for a Christmas book swap and he LOVES it!
I bought this book for my 3 year old son, Aiden. He enjoyed it. It wasn't spectacular, but it was cute.
My seven year old son proudly declares this to be his favorite book of all time. Very rarely does bedtime roll around that he's not asking to read about Aiden and his wonderful adventure into space. I love that it fosters his sense of make believe and I very sincerely hope to see more in this line of books. I definitely think it's worth the download. You won't be disappointed!
